11 Mounts Bay Road

Created by Lea Taylor, a Wadandi, Menang, Kaniyang, and Ballardong artist, Gabbi Didup Yen represents the ripples and waves of life. Once-forbidden traditional practices are now proudly reclaimed and shared in contemporary ways. While modern laws limit access to traditional weaving fibres, today’s artists continue to honour culture using the natural materials available.

Lea Taylor is a Bibbulmun Artist from the Wadandi Menang Kaniyang Ballardong nations in Western Australia. She is a Weaver/Textile Artist creating unique contemporary and traditional works. Her weaving work is what she’s recognised for having exhibited in group and solo exhibition
