About the work

At the core of this artwork are the beloved alter egos of artists Gillie and Marc – Rabbitwoman and Dogman. These deeply personal, autobiographical characters tell the story of two unlikely beings who, against all odds, become best friends and soulmates. They represent acceptance, unity, and the beauty of embracing what makes us different.

Like their characters, Gillie and Marc come from contrasting worlds — different countries, different faiths, different backgrounds. In nature, a dog and a rabbit would never coexist peacefully. But in their universe, differences do not divide us; they strengthen us. Rabbitwoman and Dogman show that love, empathy, and openness can overcome fear and prejudice.

The pair also symbolise diversity and compassion as they travel the world as eco‑warriors, standing up for wildlife and inspiring others to protect the natural world. As half‑human, half‑wild hybrids, they act as a bridge between humanity and nature, reminding us that we are not separate from the environment — we are part of it.

Crafted from high‑quality bronze using expert casting techniques, the sculpture is durable, weather‑resistant, and designed for public interaction. It welcomes people of all ages to sit, reflect, and enjoy a moment of gentle storytelling with two iconic characters.

Through Rabbitwoman and Dogman, Gillie and Marc share a simple, powerful message: we are stronger together — and love is humanity’s greatest superpower.
