When Less Says More
August 12, 2025

On World Earth Day 2025, Brookfield Properties did something unexpected. It hit pause. In a world of 4K flash and algorithmic frenzy, the leading commercial space provider in India chose restraint over spectacle. The company’s latest digital-first campaign, Powered by Purpose, premiered what it proudly declared “the least impactful video ever made”.

The low-res video urged viewers to take a digital sustainability pledge, a nudge toward lighter footprints in a world drowning in data.
And, while the internet watched, Brookfield Properties put purpose into action on the ground. Over 5,000 native trees took root in Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR, planted through a joint effort by employees and tenants. These trees are expected to sequester 1,500 tons of CO₂ and generate 2,700 tons of oxygen annually. Real action, real numbers, real impact.

Zoom out, and the initiative is just one chapter in Brookfield Properties’ larger sustainability playbook. 40% of its Delhi-NCR properties’ energy mix already comes from renewables. It has nurtured 1.5 million sq. ft. of green cover, and offsets over 20,000 metric tons of CO₂ annually, the emissions equivalent of parking 4,300 cars for good. And it targets nothing less than total transformation: 100% clean energy by 2027, and Net Zero across 55 million sq. ft. by 2040.
Brookfield Properties’ World Earth Day campaign was a reminder that meaningful change doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it whispers.
