Climate resilience through effective flood mitigation

As part of our commitment to climate resilience, we have partnered with Climate-B Ventures, an early-stage climate tech startup founded by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee alumni, to pilot an innovative flood mitigation initiative. This collaboration aims to enhance the resilience of our office parks against extreme weather events, specifically the 1-in-100-year rainfall scenario.

The project involves the development of a comprehensive hydraulic and hydrogeological model using advanced drone-based topographical scans and detailed on-ground drainage surveys. This data-driven approach enables us to better understand floodwater runoff patterns and implement targeted infrastructure improvements both within and around our properties.

Looking ahead, this initiative holds significant potential for broader environmental and operational benefits. By identifying natural runoff zones, we can strategically introduce bio-swales and permeable surfaces, increase green cover, and improve stormwater absorption.

Additionally, insights from this pilot will inform the expansion of rainwater harvesting systems, both onsite and offsite, contributing to water conservation and sustainable landscaping.
