Make your move at Checkmate at Brookfield Place, co-sponsored by Battery Park City Authority — an event featuring strategy, fun, and friendly competition for players of all ages and skill levels.

Explore the game through a variety of different programming including open play, a tenant tournament, a Saturday Chess Club gathering, and an exciting simultaneous play event featuring a Grandmaster. Grab a friend or co-worker and play the game on our giant indoor chess board underneath the palm trees of the Winter Garden. Whether you’re making your first move or mastering your endgame, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
