Saïdou Dicko - Brookfield Properties x The Photographers’ Gallery

February 6 - March 27, 2026
Aldgate Tower, London, U.K.

Silhouette of a person standing in profile facing right, wearing a patterned dress with white, black, and purple shapes. Small decorative dots appear on the face. The background is a dense, colourful abstract pattern resembling overlapping leaves in orange, blue, yellow, teal, and beige. A red cross symbol appears above the figure’s head. The image has a textured, textile-like appearance with bold colours and intricate linework.

Saïdou Dicko is a self-taught visual artist based in Paris, working across photography, video, painting, and installation. Fascinated by shadows since childhood, they are central to his work, symbolizing contrast, unity, and humanity.

He began photography in 2005, and just six months later, his debut exhibition at the 2006 Dakar Biennale Off won him the first of many awards. His work has since been exhibited internationally, earning recognition at major biennales and fairs.

In 2012, he co-founded Rendez-Vous of Artists, a nomadic platform for artistic exchange. His latest series, The Shadowed People, distils years of exploration into poetic, thought-provoking works.

Silhouette of a person walking from left to right, wearing a short-sleeve striped shirt and dark pants. The figure appears completely black against a vibrant, patterned background filled with honeycomb-like shapes in blue, green, yellow, and white. A small red cross symbol floats above the person’s head. The overall scene feels graphic and collage-like, with strong contrast between the dark figure and the colourful abstract background.
