Then The Story Goes
Republic Plaza
February 20, 2020 - December 31, 2021
Arts Brookfield presents Then The Story Goes by local Denver artist Olive Moya, a permanent, large-scale mural in the Concourse level of Republic Plaza. Opening Thursday, Feb. 20, Then The Story Goes was commissioned specifically for downtown Denver’s tallest building and represents a sequence of events or a timeline.
This piece brings life to an underground space with an energetic array of bright colors, shapes, lines, and movement to emulate Denver’s diversity. The city explodes with cars, buses, lights, noises, skyscrapers, construction, graffiti, smells of food and coffee, people dressed sharply on their way to work, the homeless or tourists. The mural shows all of this, as well as time moving forward much like one’s day might progress as they move through downtown.
