The preppy-meets-bohemian brand has opened more than 70 stores in Asia over the past three years.

Tory Burch has redefined American preppy with a global point of view, so it makes sense that her eponymous brand is now focused on expanding its global footprint. Currently operating stores in Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, United Arab Emirates — as well as more than 50 stores in mainland China — this year the brand added new stores in Mumbai, India, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Now under the leadership of Burch’s husband, former LVMH CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel, Tory Burch is finding enthusiastic audiences in these new markets.

Even before Tory Burch began opening its iconic orange lacquered doors across Asia, the brand’s accessories — including its double T-embellished Reva ballet flats, Miller leather sandals, and high-end handbags — enjoyed cult status there. The aspirational-yet-accessible, preppy-yet-bohemian brand pulls its inspiration from Burch’s mainline Philadelphia upbringing as well as her travels to Greece, Italy, Morocco, India, and beyond. According to Burch, ‘60s and ‘70s interior designer David Hicks, who was known for his use of color, pattern, and geometric prints, has been an influence since day one. “His fearless and witty take on color and print, and his exquisite attention to detail, have made a lasting impression on our brand and on me,” she said.

That aesthetic is on full display in Tory Burch stores around the world — from the glossy orange front doors to the olive-green carpet; the luxe velvet x-benches to the sumptuous sofas with ikat cushions; the heavy gold accents to the chic animal print accessories.

Burch began her career in fashion working her way up the ranks at Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, and Harper’s Bazaar. After noticing a void in accessible luxury — the space between luxury designer and mass-market apparel — she launched her brand and opened her New York City flagship store in 2004. By 2005, her brand exploded after an appearance on Oprah, which generated over eight million hits to the Tory Burch website in a matter of days. Three years later, the Council of Fashion Designers of American named her Accessory Designer of the Year, and in 2009, she appeared on an episode of “Gossip Girl” as herself. In less than a decade, Burch had built a $3.5 billion-dollar brand.

“My company is an extension of me, so when I designed my stores, I wanted people to feel that they were in my home.”

—Tory Burch, Executive Chairman & Chief Creative Officer

After stepping back from the CEO role in 2019 to focus on creative, today this fashion mogul also prioritizes giving back. Her work with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation has earned her the prestigious Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award. And her non-profit, the Tory Burch Foundation, empowers other women entrepreneurs through access to capital, education, and digital resources. To date, the foundation has provided more than $100 million in loans to more than 5,500 female entrepreneurs.

Now a multi-category lifestyle brand, Tory Burch boasts more than 350 locations around the world, including locations at Ala Moana Center, Brookfield Place, Fashion Show Las Vegas, Grand Canal Shoppes, Kenwood Towne Centre, Miami Design District, Natick Mall, Oakbrook Center, Pioneer Place, The Shops at La Cantera, and Tysons Galleria. Brookfield Properties is proud to partner with this iconic female-owned brand working to empower and support women in business.
