This seasonal dining program encourages hungry shoppers to experience the innovative culinary concepts available at Brookfield Properties’ shopping centers.
At Brookfield Properties, we’re dedicated to creating environments that meet the needs of today’s shopper while also benefitting the communities where they live. And restaurants are a key component of that live/work/play retail strategy.
To support our valued restaurant partners during the pandemic, we cooked up Dine & Delight, a seasonal dining rewards program that’s been so well received, we’ve kicked it off for the third year in a row.
At nearly 30 Brookfield Properties’ shopping centers across the country and running through February 28 (with rewards redeemable through March 30), Dine & Delight rewards diners who spend $50 or more at participating restaurants. They can redeem up to two $20 dining rewards, making it a win/win for both restaurateurs and shoppers alike.
Among our Dine & Delight partners this year are The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Chang’s, Corner Bakery Cafe, Benihana, Bar Louie, Yard House, Nordstrom Café, Starbucks, and a plethora of other national restaurants and local hot spots.
Generating more than $3 billion in annual sales across our retail properties, restaurants currently represent more than 14% of our portfolio — a number that continues to grow as we work to increase dining options for our shopping center communities.
Our Dine & Delight program reminds customers that malls are no longer just places to shop. Our modern marketplaces are also places to indulge in date nights, meet friends for lunch, take the family to dinner, and enjoy happy hour with coworkers. We’re replacing yesterday’s food court with full-fledged dining districts, restaurant rows, and food halls bursting with exciting dining concepts.
For example, the indoor/outdoor Quarter Market food hall at Ballston Quarter in Arlington, Virginia is a true culinary destination, showcasing a variety of local eateries. Offerings include District Donut, Baltimore favorite The Local Oyster, food-truck-turned-restaurant Turu’s by Timber Pizza, and Roll’d, led by Chef Nobu Yamazaki of Sushi Taro, D.C.’s only Michelin-starred sushi restaurant.
Another culinary-rich marketplace, The District Food Hall at Oakbrook Center — just outside of Chicago — offers an array of trendy fast-casual dining options, including Stan’s Donuts & Coffee, Pie Five, and DMK Burger. Shoppers looking for full-service dining can choose from 19 different dining destinations there, including the new RH rooftop restaurant, a skylit garden escape amid trickling fountains, heritage olive trees, and glimmering chandeliers.
Urbanspace Food Hall at Tysons Galleria offers a curated mix of Washington, D.C. favorite food concepts, including Andy’s Pizza, Donburi D.C. (Japanese comfort food), and more.
And at Whalers Village in Maui, guests can enjoy fine dining and cocktails oceanside at restaurants like Hula Grill, where the flavors of the island are delivered daily by local fisherman and farmers to its open-air kitchen and served with the spirit of aloha on Ka’anapali Beach.
Across our retail portfolio, we’re delivering delicious dining concepts that reflect the unique culinary traditions of our local communities. By focusing on one of our customers' primary needs – food – we’re transforming our shopping centers into true dining destinations while breathing new life and energy into the places we serve.
