Brian Schley

Brian Schley is Senior Vice President, Risk Management & Insurance with oversight of the North American Real Estate businesses. He provides support and guidance for global real estate insurance programs to ensure company assets are adequately protected. His responsibilities include insurance procurement, alternative risk transfer programs, captive insurance company management, crisis management and claims management. Brian also provides leadership for the Multifamily management company where he oversees procurement, ancillary services, and security functions.

Prior to joining Brookfield Properties in 2020, Brian spent 25 years in risk management and insurance with a heavy concentration in Real Estate and multifamily operations. In addition to his prior company at AvalonBay, his previous experience includes time with Archstone Communities Trust, Accenture and The Walt Disney World Company.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and maintains a professional designation of Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
