Tyler Steel serves Chief Financial Officer of the North American office business of Brookfield Properties, where he leads the business’s finance operations, including accounting, treasury, financial planning, and tax functions. In addition to this role, Tyler is the Chief Financial Officer of GGP, a retail real estate business.
With over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and leadership, Tyler has a track record of driving financial strategy, streamlining operations and organizational success. Prior to joining the company, he was Vice President of Finance at Ventas, where he led the corporate finance team, building a robust financial planning and analysis organization. Prior to that, Tyler served as Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Lending at GE Capital Real Estate, where he spearheaded a successful turnaround strategy following the 2008 financial market crash. During his 15-year tenure at General Electric, Tyler completed the prestigious Corporate Audit Staff and Financial Management programs.
Tyler graduated with honors from The College of William & Mary earning a bachelor’s in economics.
