Tyler Steel is the Chief Financial Officer of the U. S. retail business at Brookfield Properties, overseeing all aspects of the company’s finance functions, including accounting, capital markets, financial planning, and tax. Tyler joined the company in 2019 in his current role and brings over 20 years of corporate finance and leadership experience.
Prior to Brookfield, Tyler was Vice President of Finance at Ventas, where he led the corporate finance team and created a financial planning and analysis organization. Before Ventas, he was Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Lending for GE Capital Real Estate, where he was responsible for developing and executing a successful turnaround strategy following the 2008 financial market crash. Tyler was with General Electric for over 15 years, where he completed the prestigious Corporate Audit Staff and Financial Management programs.
Tyler graduated from The College of William & Mary with honors and a bachelor’s in economics.
