On 21st June, International Yoga Day 2019 was celebrated with much zeal and vigour at Candor TechSpace’s campuses in Gurugram, Noida and Kolkata.
Yoga remains very popular in India, though the past few years have seen it gain huge momentum in Western nations too. This ancient practice has stood the test of time because it helps in maintaining the mental and physical well-being of a person. International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on 21st June in order to raise global awareness about the many benefits of yoga. The occasion, which is marked by various events organised across the world, comes with a different theme every year.
This year, India celebrated the fifth edition of International Yoga Day, with the theme being ‘Climate Action’. Most of the ministries and departments, state governments and corporate organisations initiated activities to mark the day. Candor TechSpace observed the occasion with group sessions on yoga that were conducted at four of its campuses across India—located at Sectors 21 and 48 in Gurugram; Sector 135, Noida; and New Town – Rajarhat in Kolkata. The goal was to help the employees of its occupiers increase their knowledge of yoga and encourage them to have a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance.
At each of the four campuses, experienced yoga instructors from Mind.Fit were invited to talk about the health benefits of yoga. They made the audience aware of the yoga asanas that they can practice with ease, by performing the postures right in front of their eyes. Most importantly, the audience got to learn about office yoga and how practising the poses at their desk can help them relax and become more productive during work hours. The response for the event was outstanding, with each campus seeing around 80-90 participants.
