Wade and Leta: Now You See Me

Now You See Me is an expansion of the Wade and Leta visual landscape, practicing the acts of positive and negative layering to create dynamic relationships within a structural space. Their installation utilizes simple shapes—those that often appear in their 2D and 3D works—which become inverted within edifice-like blocks, resulting in a play on the opposing relationship between space and light. Each sightline brings a discovery of new silhouettes, creating contrasting combinations of color that overwhelm the viewer’s eyes and create tension between the negative spaces within.

Wade and Leta make music for your eyes. Their studio combines purposeful eclecticism and performative design to create satisfying and emotional visuals ranging from conventional identities to colorfully charged compositions and installations utilizing all disciplines. 

Leta Sobierajski and Wade Jeffree’s story started in 2013 through OK Cupid, an online dating website. Love came first, but as graduated graphic designers, they soon started brainstorming and creating together as well. It was a match made in heaven: a meeting of like-minded people with similar tastes in humor and aesthetics. After getting married, they established their eponymous studio to spend their days together working with an ever-expanding range of different fields: photography, branding, installations, fashion, and most recently furniture design. Essentially, they extended graphic design to the widest possible spectrum with the aim of bringing joy into the lives of as many people as possible.
